Le monde du cinéma avait envie et besoin de se retrouver du côté de Los Angeles avec une très longue cérémonies des Oscars qui se tenait à la Gare de Los Angeles, avec le retour des artistes et non en virtuel.

Une soirée qui a récompensé logiquement Nomadland, grand favori avec la statuette de meilleur film et meilleure réalisation. La France n’est pas en reste avec le film The Father récompensé tout comme le documentaire Colette. Frances McDormand et Anthony Hopkins ont obtenu les prix des meilleurs acteurs principaux tandis que les prix des meilleurs seconds rôles ont été décernés à Daniel Kaluuya et Youn Juh-yung.
